What is Carolyn’s House? Carolyn’s House is a supportive housing program for homeless women and children operated by the YWCA of Niagara. Its mission is to assist women in achieving self-sufficiency—the ability to live independently. Acceptance into the program is based on financial eligibility requirements and the ability to achieve self-sufficiency. Women interested in participating in the Carolyn’s House program are required to fill out an application packet. Application for Residency Applicants will be scheduled for an intake interview with Carolyn’s House staff. At this meeting, applicants will discuss their goals and submit required documentation. Applicants are given a tour of Carolyn’s House during which they can see an apartment similar to the size they are applying for. The Intake Interview Apartment Sizes & Availability All apartments are equipped with a kitchen with stove and refrigerator, bath (1.5 baths for 3-bedroom units), living room, dining area and closet space. All apartments contain some furnishings. Tenants are responsible for security deposit and obtaining their own electric service.
