Parenting
Mothers at Carolyn's House are provided with parenting courses. A certificate is issued to residents who complete the course.

Medical Assistance
Planned Parenthood of WNY partners with the YWCA of Niagara, sending its Mobile Exam Unit to Carolyn’s House to offer medical examinations and information on health issues. This service is especially helpful for women who may not yet have medical insurance in place.

Self-Esteem
Once each month, residents participate in a self-esteem workshop. Residents tackle issues that have held them back from developing a life of independence and stability.

Culinary for Kids
In single family homes, older children are often called upon to assist in meal preparation. This program is designed for children between the ages of 7 and 15 and held one evening each week. The program combines ingredients of basic kitchen skills, kitchen safety, easy food preparation and fun. The best part is the children are able to eat what they make. Yum!

Pre-College Workshops
Carolyn’s House periodically teams up with Niagara County Community College to offer pre-college workshops designed for people who wants to pursue a college career but may not know where to begin. This program offers assistance in developing communication skills, creating good study habits or assistance in the registration process. The program is offered to residents and members of the community. Scheduling times vary.

Financial Literacy
Carolyn’s House partners with Key Bank to offer financial literacy training to residents and children who are interested in opening a bank account or want to learn how to better manage their money.
